CogniFort Plus is a dietary supplement intended for healthy adults. It is not a treatment for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, mild cognitive impairment or any other medical condition, and no dietary supplement is.
Memory problems that are progressive, that interfere with daily life, or that concern the people around you should be assessed by a doctor. Several causes of memory change — thyroid disorders, vitamin B12 deficiency, medication side effects, depression and sleep apnoea — are treatable and sometimes reversible once identified. Delaying assessment in favour of a supplement is the one thing that consistently costs people.
Ginkgo Biloba may affect bleeding and can interact with anticoagulant and antiplatelet medication including warfarin, aspirin and clopidogrel. It may also be inadvisable for people with seizure disorders. Panax Ginseng may affect anticoagulants and blood glucose. Both are usually stopped around two weeks before planned surgery — tell your surgical team everything you take.
Rhodiola Rosea has been discussed in relation to antidepressant medication. Bacopa Monnieri can cause mild digestive upset if taken on an empty stomach. Lion’s Mane should be avoided by anyone with a mushroom allergy.
Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone under 18. Do not exceed the recommended serving. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use if the safety seal is damaged or missing.
CogniFort Plus is manufactured in a facility registered with the FDA and subject to inspection. This describes the premises. It does not mean the product is FDA approved — no dietary supplement is, because no such approval process exists for supplements, and we will not describe it that way.
Research referenced on this site concerns the individual botanicals. CogniFort Plus as a finished product has not been through its own clinical trial, and nothing here should be read as suggesting it has.
Results vary between individuals. Nothing here guarantees any outcome. Consistent use over 60 to 90 days is recommended, and even then any effect is expected to be gradual and modest.
